Evolpmal gettin ‘er done!

June 11th, 2011 2 comments

Due to unrelenting pressure to update my blog, here goes!

I have been meaning to update for a while now but when I’m on my computer, able to blog, I’m far more inclined to play rather than write about playing lol! The game is such a different game from what I remember and from what I see from previous posts. The grind is no more and achievement reigns supreme. Anyone with a couple of skilled friends and the right job combinations can do most anything in todays game. Some people decry the lack of challenge these days but to them I say, use less numbers. Now the casual/moderate gamer can get his/her fill, feel like they can achieve something great in the game and not have to sacrifice their real lives in order to do it. Gone are the days where only the people who could afford to spend 6-7 days a week, 8+ hours a day being the only ones with noteworthy gear. In my humble opinion, these are the qualities of a truly great game.

FFXI is a game for the masses. Bare in mind though, skill is still important. The players without skill are still evident. You can see it in their timing, their awareness of their surroundings and even in the gear combinations they use be it for TP or WS. This has become even more apparent to me since Evolpmal got serious and started recruiting people to fill our gaps. Our core group of 7 or 8 guys is extremely talented and very dedicated to each other. We have added 2-3 more guys over time, lost 1 or 2 and seen how adding good players really enhances the group and losing good ones is keenly felt. Nevertheless, we soldier on as our core group and continue to succeed. But then there is the odd noob that gets a tryout and boy oh boy do you see quickly the skill level in comparison to the rest of the group. Needless to say, they don’t last long. I know it all sounds rather elitist but the the simple fact is, we have gotten used to fast, efficient work as a group and when people get the opportunity to join us, they need to keep up or risk being shot out the back.

Anyway, Evolpmal has been going great guns for the past few months. We now have 4 empy weapons in the linkshell, 2 of them recently upgraded to their 90 versions. Congrats to Trench and Otige and their weapons of mass destruction.

I coulda sworn I had pictures of Warslane’s Kannagi but I guess they got lost when I upgraded my PC :/ He is also very close to completing his 90 version weapon and a pic or 2 will be acquired at that point for the next blog update.

My Masamune which was the first weapon completed by the LS remains at the 85 level for the time being.

Inside Abyssea where we do most of our work, the Masamune is relatively underpowered when compared to MNK NIN and WAR weaponskills which all benefit from crits and the Razed Ruin atma. Outside Abyssea, Masamune keeps up well with MNK and WAR and from what I have seen, surpasses NIN so I keep its use to outside Abyssea for the most part. I’m usually needed on other jobs anyway which is nice as it keeps the freshness in the game. Still, it sure is fun to play with in merit parties.

Having these premium weapons in the LS, mobs in the old world really do pose little threat. This was made very apparent recently when we decided to go after Bahamut v2 for Otige. We all entered, buffed up, had a SMN Perfect Defense us and a few seconds later…

lol it was so fast in fact, that we re-entered again immediately and did it over again before Perfect Defense and our 2 houred songs wore off. Trench ended up with the highest WS number for the fight at around 3500, mine 2nd as you see above but I did manage to get off 2-3 more WSs in the same time. YAY SAM!

The LS also continues to upgrade AF3 to the +2 versions at an alarming rate. Most of us now have at least one full set of AF3+2 with 2 or 3 more sets closely behind.

Currently, we are working to add Dyl’s Twashtar to the list of weapons and will follow that up with an Almace for either Nasse or Renshuu. Gonna be funny watching Dyl only able to use his Twatwasher on BRD as we generally use him for that. Would be nice to see him on THF a little more often since this happened…

After something like 4-5 years of waiting for them to drop to him, he finally got them! Funniest part was, soon thereafter when 2-3 other people had also obtained a pair of the elusive Assassins armlets…

AND MY THF IS 45 AT THAT POINT WITH NO PLANS TO LEVEL BEYOND 49 LOL!!!!! So…..

LOL!

Anyway, it’s all so great after so many years of gameplay (makes me a little ashamed of how much time I have wasted sitting at my computer playing a game lol), to be in a LS of people I consider good friends (if only in the game), tearing through the things we want to do, sharing and helping as friends should and all feeling a sense of achievement in a game that can suck the life out of you with disappointment and slow progress. I often think about how all good things must come to an end but I really hope that we can stick together as a group and continue to forge ahead and fulfill everyones game ambitions as quickly, cleanly and epicly as we have been for the past few months for a long time to come. Just hope they all don’t get sick of me as their leader anytime soon! lol

See ya soon!

What happenned?!

February 7th, 2011 4 comments

All of a sudden, its been a year since I posted here and sooo much has changed. I went from having plenty of plans in the game to getting ready to sell off my gear, give my gil away, delete my characters and quit for good to being utterly swamped by the content that arrived with the Abyssea expansions.

Lets start from the start:

When last we spoke, Evolpmal was on a bit of a downturn but getting things done. Eventually though, numbers faded to the point of paralyzing the LS so I decided we’d join up with another group and see how that went. A few LS’s later and I found myself back with my good friends in Soymilk. I’ll always be grateful to Rathiel for having a home for me to come back to after wandering around in Vana’diel.

So I got so frustrated and tired of the old content that I started preparing to quit. I started selling off gear, deleted my original character and mule Obyron and started my goodbyes.

I had thought I would just fade out much as Bubbo did, popping in from time to time and say hi and do small things. Well next thing, the first Abyssea expansion hits and all the new gear, atmas and the way we gained experience points sucked me right back in! All of a sudden, everything is new and fresh and fun. Gone are the days where full parties or alliances are required to get stuff done. Now my faithful BST job can get stuff I only dreamed about and on my own. We can now go out duoing mobs for seals, items, atmas, KIs etc with just an evasion job and a support job which Dyl and I took to like flies to you know what. Even the new empyrean weapons are not out of reach!

So I spent a bunch of time with Soymilk just taking it easy, taking a break from trying to lead and organise and helped the LS get a bunch of key atmas, get some Af3 upgrades done and just unwind. I wanna take this opportunity to say thanks to Niomi for all his hard work leading the SM Abyssea group and working through all the headaches that come with the job and upwards of 30 people at each event.

In the end though, the huge number of people in SM all wanting gear, atmas and KIs really weighed the group down and it was apparent that getting anything done would take much much longer than initially expected. After speaking to a few friends, I decided to restart Evolpmal and get a small group together to work on finishing all the zone bosses, caturaes and gaining access to Shinryu and the Twilight gear he drops. In a matter of just 2-3 weeks, we got through all we needed, picked up a few people along the way and have started with our 2nd task, working on empyrean weapons. The Shinryu fight is very cool by the way. Generally, people just use a Primeval brew to destroy him but the BCNM is still very cool after everything we have seen in the game. Bravo SE. Bravo

Spending a lot of my free time in Abyssea – La Thiene, I managed to farm up popsets for Carabosse and with the help of my friends and LS (especially Dyl and Warslane, thanks again guys), I managed to get all 50 gems required to obtain…

Hellz yeah! Oh but it wasn’t without great sacrifice x_x

DAMN YOU CARABOSSE! DAMN YOU AND YOUR FLASHY RED UNDIES! GYAHHHHH!

As of this posting, I am 20/50 lanterns towards having Tachi: Fudo added to the weapon along with a very nice aftermath and initial damage rating. A bunch of the LS has a popset for Cirein Croin ready to go for tonight and maybe, just maybe, we might get it finished tonight. Unbelievably stoked! The 85 and up weapons are freakishly overpowered in Abyssea and even work very well outside. Here is the first time I saw one in action…

I about keeled over! Rest assured, Mictantecuhtli didn’t last long. I can’t wait to unleash Fudo on the plethora of enemies awaiting. And Fudo isnt even CLOSE to the strongest one! From all accounts, Ukko’s fury (WAR) and Victory Smite (MNK) eat stuff alive. But I am a die hard Samurai and will be happy as a clam with Fudo.

SAM has not been my only focus of late though. I decided that BST, BLM, RDM and WAR would be the other jobs I keep on top of and take to 90 (the current level cap). Its a lot of work to keep them well geared. At least with experience points flowing in like you could never have imagined, all my merits are done. Last night, I joined up with Otige, Nasse, Tuly and Ashuri for a Fell Cleave burn in Abyssea – Miseraux Coast. It was the first time I have tried this having only gained 90 the day before on WAR and only having reached the level required for Fell Cleave a few days before that. Man, was it fun though. Nasse on PLD pulled in a bunch of unsuspecting Apkallu and I would 2 hour, buff right up, Sekkanoki, Fell Cleave, Fell Cleave and polish off any stragglers.

With all the blue chests raining down, there was invariably a 2 hour restore chest each round so I could just rinse and repeat. With the TP gain from Retaliation, I would just WS and BAM! more TP ready to go. I now know how I will be getting my subjobs to the appropriate levels. Heck, I even got…

…which finished off DRG merits. I now have nothing further to merit unless I decide to redo something or bring another job beyond 75. I think about COR at times and may well do that after 99 and my current jobs are done to my liking.

The new content even bought in the very cool new job specific emotes of which my favorite has to be BLM.

The SAM one is amusing as is the NIN one. Even better, you can spam a couple of different ones in quick succession and get a combined effect. Try BLM and DRK if you haven’t already.

As I eluded to above, my long time friend and supporter Bubbo decided she had had enough of FFXI. It was a sad day indeed. Having done so much with her and having her around during times of transition, the game seems just a little less fun without someone of that much pride in their game and skill at the same. The silver lining I suppose was that I was the fortunate recipient of her acquired wealth and that has made my life much easier in game. Not having to worry about farming or being concerned that an item is too expensive now certainly makes the game far more enjoyable. Farewell Bubbo. You are and will be sorely missed.

Ack, such a sober moment. Here. Let me lighten the mood after such sad news by presenting you with hilarity from the past few months.

That last gem was what I came back to after a day of afk. Had some big lolz let me tell you. Well thats my year in review. The coming year promises to be a good one. Goals off the top of my head are obviously Masamune (90) version, SAM AF3+2 completed, in fact AF3+2 for all my jobs and an Emp weapon for each of the members in my LS.

I leave you once again with the LEETness of Enna. BAI!

/slacking off…off

February 18th, 2010 No comments

Oi, I have been slack with my blog. Seems that since we moved back to the city and life has become more hectic, blog time has been forfeited. For shame I know ; ; Perhaps this update will placate the masses?

Ok so what has been going? Well its been an interested start to the year. The LS went from as high as being able to kill Kirin to nearly breaking. A bunch of people have either stopped playing almost entirely or just simply quit. Some have moved on to shells that they feel better suits them. Some people were just removed for my sanity’s sake. Either way the shell has been pruned down to just my closest friends and the people that I want to be around. People that are interested in doing what I’m interested in doing and doing a good job at it. People who are on time (for the most part) and give their best effort each time (for the most part).

So we have cut sky out of the weekly schedule and started to mess about with ZNMs instead. Very fun system that provides something different, something that people can be sure to get what they want if they put the time into farming zeni and something that we can work towards getting some really top end gear. HACHIRYU HAIDATE WHERE??!!

The first couple of weeks have seen us take on Chamrosh for the Dragoon’s earring he drops which he finally did this past week. Very stoked.

DragoonsEarring

In the process of figuring out how best to kill him with the people we had, I got this shot also…

KillMal

Oh boy do I love killing PLDs. Of all the jobs I like killing, PLDs bring me the most joy. We had the kill in hand and I autotargeted Mal for some reason and couldn’t help myself. HONESTLY MAL! I COULDN’T HELP IT! :)

After we got Dragoon’s earring, we hit up Chigre in the hopes we could get a couple of Blood rings for Dyl and Mal.Unfortunately he was stingy the 2nd time around but the first time…

ChigreFullDorps

FULL DORPS! Grats Dyl and don’t worry Mal. With the ease with which we killed him, we’ll surely get these drops again for you.

The other one we tried was the Mamool Ja BLM/WHM. We woulda won pretty easily but for his rage time. We just needed another BLM or RNG or 2 and he’d have gone down easily within the time before he rages. As it was, we got him done to about 30% after Benediction and he wouldn’t go any further. He’ll keep though. We’ll come back with more people and show him whats up.

Limbus has been trucking along as usual though with the downturn in numbers, Omega pops have been shelved until we replenish which might not be too far away after the chat I had with another LS leader the other night. Stay tuned.
Our last Omega saw our first 5/5 Homam as well as my most coveted piece. Grats Warslane on 5/5 and woot on my healing breath build completion bar one peice as well as the best haste feet for DRG around.

HomamFeet

Homam5War

We’re gonna focus on completing upgrades for the time being as well as converting chips for a couple of Ultima pops.

Dynamis has been ok lately also. As you saw last post, Rathiel finally completed his horn though I yet to see a merit party from it…whats that all about Rath?! A couple of drops have come my well.

DuelistGloves

MonsterGaiters

The RDM hands were really the only exciting piece due to the fact that my BST rarely sees the light of day lately. Thinking of retiring it completely if for no other reason than gaining more space. Will have to find somewhere to offload all my rare/ex BST stuff if thats the case. :/

Finally on my personal GET-list, Mog Bonanza gifted my 10 inventory slots and…

SLstat

. . . . . .

Oh well maybe next year….OR NEXT MONTH! AMANO GAO!

My good buddy Rianon who you all know as our most gracious blog host has made out like a bandit since the new year too. First was this…

RiaKirinDorp

RiaBloodLegs

…and then finally Dyl’s TH worked properly and we cleared this want…

GoliardFeet

Slowly but surely that Rianon is becoming less and less gimp! Maybe oneday he’ll have the right gear to make good use of that Duelist hat eh Ria? :p Grats buddy!

And on the lighter side of things, my Maat’s cap quest is slowly coming along. 8/8 with my recent easy win on BRD. NIN even got me some skill ups! I think the para proc was Maat saying “?!”

KatanaSkillonMaat

RNG is my current work in progress which I am enjoying. Such an over powered job even at 37. Can’t wait to hit 54 and start dying from multiple Sidewinder induced deaths.

Finally, a couple of things I hadn’t seen before. #1 pimp ass BLU.

PimpBLU1

PimpBLU2

and #2…Horsie.

DarkIxion

CYA NEXT TIME! ^___^/

2010 goals

January 4th, 2010 No comments

So ahhh, oops. Been a while since my last post. Merry Christmas and Happy new year all! Hope you got everything you wanted from Santa and that the new year has begun well for you.

I wanted to start my 2010 blogging with a list of goals and items I’d like to achieve this year. Something I can look back on at the end of the year and evaluate how well it went. So here we go…

Gear:

Dynamis:

  • Wyrm armet
  • Duelist’s chapeau
  • Duelist’s tabard
  • Sorcerer’s coat
  • Sorcerer’s petasos

Limbus:

  • Homam gamberias
  • Homam manopolas
  • Nashira seraweels
  • Nashira manteel
  • Nashira crackows

Sky:

  • Blood cuisses
  • Shura haidate
  • Hecatomb harness

Einherjar

  • Omega ring

Nyzul Isle:

  • Goliard trews

Salvage:

  • Morrigan’s Robe
  • Morrigan’s slops
  • Morrigan’s pigaches
  • Ares flachard
  • Usukane haidate

I’m sure there are some other random pieces I want around but for now, I think this is enough to start with lol.

Quests:

Maat’s cap.

As of today the jobs I have beaten him with are BLM, SAM, DRG, RDM and NIN. Still have to get WAR and BST done whenever I get a testimony but I’m in no rush for that. They will come along as I go along.

NIN was kinda hard at 66. Took 3 tries and got lucky on the last try that he didn’t Mijin while I was at 423HP >.> Now that that is over, BRD is the next to 66. Should be a rather quick effort. After BRDm I’m thining PLD then THF or SMN. SMN I might leave till last and go to 75 with it. I really like the job once you hit 65 and get powerful BPs as well as mass buffs in Campaign ftw.

Other quests to be determined. Maat’s cap will definitely be the main focus of 2010.

Linkshell:

Biggest thing I want for the LS is to grow into an LS where people WANT to be fulltime. Not have to badger people into keeping pearl on and being at events. An LS of people who want help each other, like being around each other and have fun together.

Specific goals would include making Kirin an easy fight, the Sea jailers and getting everyone kitted out in Homam and Nashira gears.

So there we go. I’m pretty sure this list will keep me plenty busy this year >.>

So proud

November 23rd, 2009 No comments

As a small linkshell, one can’t expect a lot to happen too quickly. New people need time to adjust to each other, figure out the right/best way to do things, be willing to commit to what they do with/for the linkshell. Evolpmal has been no exception. But I’m proud to say that after just a couple of short months, we are getting very close to being able to do all the things we want to do as a linkshell.

This passed Tuesday, we had our first shot at Byakko without the need to recruit a bunch of friends from outside the LS with exception of Trench who came along to provide a little extra DD. Our tanks tanked like champs. Our support kept them refreshed, hasted, na’d and cured without issue. Our BLM and other stunners locked him down when needed while nuking without pulling hate. Our DD took his HP gauge from 100 to 0 without a hiccup while maintaining all the hate on the tanks. The only thing that prevented a perfect run was an unlucky Razor Claw for over 1k without shadows at 5% on the first attempt through which Warslane kept his cool, maintained hate for another 10 seconds while we zerged him the rest of the way.

All in all, 2 Byakko kills, 1 death and our first Byakko’s haidate!

RebHaidate

Congrats to Rebwolf who has been pining after these for a looooong time. Our other kill of Byakko saw only Heca hands drop for which I was the only person present with them on my wishlist so YOINK! Hecatomb Mittens MINE!

HecaHands

So with these very smooth kills of Byakko, my confidence level in my fine LS has risen substantially and we are off to kill Omega tonight without our normal 2 NIN/DRK tanks but rather a NIN/DRK and a PLD/NIN. Hopefully we get a good turnout and get some more Homam for people. Also feeling brave enough to give Kirin a shot as soon as we have a regular 18 member showing for sky each week. I know we have the people and skill to do it. We just need the turnout.

Other LS member obtains:

So it has been a busy few weeks since the last post and people have been getting the gear they have been hoping for slowly but surely.

Thursday we took the night off from Limbus to go after Uggalepih pendants for some of our BLMs. Always a fun fight with Golden-tongued Culberry and having a THF there to tap away on him while he chased after nuke crazy BLMs proved very beneficial as he dropped his treasure all three attempts (1 HQ pop item, 2 NQ). Big congrats to Bossco (thanks again Boss for providing the pop items), Matito and Tandorin on pumping up that bomb power.

HappyBoss

UggyWin

Also thanks to Mon for keeping that pesky random tonberry dead while we kited Culberry around and to Dyl for helping us out. The near future will see us back to visit Mr. Culberry again to get pendants for Silkitty, Sickaning and whoever else might post that they need one ;)

Nyzul Isle has also been good to us of late. This past Monday saw 3 drops from 3 runs! All of which were items people wanted.

RiaGoliard

SerpGoliard

Dyl...

Yeah Dyl lootwhored an Askar korazin he can’t even wear yet! Woohoo! Poor Matty has to wait for the next one ; ;

Personal progress:

This past few weeks has also seen a few items come my way. Sky has provided both Heca hands and feet to actually make my DRG and WAR weaponskill gear somewhat respectable.

DRGws

Speaking of DRG, after finally obtaining the other half of my AF+1 upgrades from Limbus, I set about getting together some Wyvern HP+ gear for better healing breaths and therefore better soloing/DRG parties. In quick succession, I got…

AF+1Pants

ChanoixsGorget

WyvernMail

Now all I need is Homam Feet and Wyrm Armet to make soloing on DRG a breeze! With this gear, I can push normal wyvern cures up over 500 and with Deep Breathing, over 1000! COME ON OMEGA AND DYNAMIS: XARCABARD!

Outside of obtaining gear, I have also had time to work on improving my character some via merits. Had great fun in DRG parties just going nuts on mobs without care for mage MP and building merit points while I do it. That combined with Campaign I finally got to this point for the first time.

10Merits

10 Merits??!! I couldn’t believe I had the patience to let that accumulate lol. So that went into STR upgrade #4 and shortly thereafter…

STRcapped

Holy crap, its finally done! I thought I’d quit the game before I finished STR but after getting the 4th, the 5th was actually easy. Thanks Dyl for berating me into finishing this ; ;

Now that all my general merits are done, I’m left only with job specific merit upgrades and the next on the list to complete is DRG. High Jump capped followed by Deep Breathing then Angon. After DRG, I think I’ll open up the remaining AMII spells on BLM before showing BST some love. MAYBE after that, I’ll do WAR? I really have to not think about the fact that after 402 merits in use, I still have so far to go as well as work on my Maat’s cap. Guess I’ll be playing till 2020 eh? Well at least I have the love of my friends to keep me going.

Quick update

November 9th, 2009 No comments

Since today is November update day, I have time to update so BAM! update you shall have though I don’t promise it’s anything tooooo exciting.

November Update:

Have to say I’m usually quite excited about updates but this is the first one that I can recall that has held very little perceived goodness for me.

The BST adjustment is nice I guess but I rarely use jugs as is. Lars will always be using Double Claw from now on when we farm instead of slowing mobs. Yay?

The new expansion I’m sure will be good though I’m still not sure what pants to get. Those of you who know me and my job preferences, please post your recommendations for pants that will enhance my situation and why. Be prepared to be debated with! :p

Other than that, not much else for me. Meh, it’s fine. Next update will make up for it……right SE?

Nyzul Isle:

Nyzul week 2 went well again though we were without Ria due to RL ; ;

Of the 3 runs, we got another 2 pairs of shoes for people, Askar boots for guest member Monstrouswombat and Goliard shoes for….ME! STOKED!! Have wanted those for RDM for a long time. Now I only need Goliard pants for Oshi mage gear.

MonAskar

EnnaGoliard

Sky:

Sky has been going ok though we still need a few more bodies for it to be able to do gods at any time. Last week we decided to have a go at Seiryu with 9 people. Was very hectic and stressful but everyone held it together and even with both PLDs dying twice, we managed to pull out the win.

SeiryuDrops

OK drops with people wanting each piece. Grats to Dyl, Bubbo and Tan. Hopefully soon we’ll have the numbers to do Byakko which means the others are no prob.

Dynamis:

Another good week in Dyna for me picking up freelot BST hat which I have wanted forever though I failed to take a pic >.> This week also saw me hit a new high WS number.

DynaWShigh

Not nearly as high as I have seen but I’m happy with it as it was only buffed by food and hasso.

So there’s another post for ya. Small I know but perhaps I’ll update again soon eh?! ^___^/

Back on track.

November 2nd, 2009 No comments

So after all the fuss lately with people leaving the linkshell and game, this post will be all happy and stuff! And what better way to make a happy post than to show our latest gots and various fun? Thats right! There is NO other way! ^^

Job leveling:

The last few weeks have seen me focusing on getting MNK and BLU to 37. MNK just coz it was the only Maats cap job under 37 left for me and BLU for a DRG sub. You’ll be pleased to hear MNK is done finally and not a moment too soon. I have to say MNK is NOT fun solo. Thanks Bubbo for PLing that last level so I could get rid of that gear and get onto something a little more fun…BLU! BLU is hella fun! Gone from 22 to 31 so far in just 4 short solo sessions. With xp ring, Fields of Valor and bashing the snot out of various T worms, experience points come thick and fast. Check THIS out!

ONEMOREXP

Chain5solo

So I expect BLU will be 37 by weeks end then I’ll be back to either BRD or PLD and working slowly on my Maat’s cap.

Dynamis:

Orz. Dynamis.

I have to admit that since I tried this again, this time as a melee instead of BLM, Dyna has been pretty good fun with Soymilk. I’ve been with them before as it is led by my good long time friend Rathiel but going as BLM in past runs, I had to give it away due to extreme boredom.Recently though with getting DRG to 75, the need for a Wyrm Armet has been great as well as the desire to get those extra pieces for SAM, RDM, lolBST, BLM and WAR to push my performance limits so Dynamis has been re-added to my list of weekly events.

First off, thanks Rath for making the transition into Dynamis again so accommodating and thanks Soymilk for putting up with my infrequent Dyna visits.

So I have finally worked through my 5 runs as a trial member and have now been granted the ability to lot items that aren’t already committed to someone with more points (which is everyone >.>). My first run being allowed to lot was Dynamis: Qufim. A fun run which eventually netted me Sorcerer’s Tonban, Saotome Kote (one of the main pieces I wanted from Dyna), and a Wyrm belt for DRG jumps! Woohoo! Yesterday in Beaucedine, I ALMOST got Duelists Tabard but a far more deserving person outlotted me so I’m not too upset though Lee DID promise to make another drop which it didn’t. Whats that all about? -.-

DynaLoot

In addition to the drops, I now have access to Xarcabard and with a Buburimu win, I’ll have access to Tavnazia. Our recent excursion to visit the Shadow Lord (my first ever sighting of the big guy) resulted in some most excellent fun…

SLcarnage

Not exactly the desired result but damn if it wasn’t fun. 3 BRD and 2 CORs buffed us all to hell and in we went. We got him to 15% I believe before we wiped and it would have been an easy win if the pull had been as expected. Oh well, it was a good effort and just a couple of minor adjustments will result in win.

Oh and Rath, DO NOT WANT SONGS!

ResistSong

LS events:

A long while back I had got in my mind that I really, really, really, really, REALLY, REEEEAAAALLLLY, wanted a Gnadbhod’s helm. REALLY! So Al and I (when we were hanging out :/) went and farmed 2 popsets for the Orc SCNM both for the SCNM entry and the drops from the NMs in the area that at the time (and some still are) were worth some nice gil. We went with the understanding that since Al had Heca gear that as a WAR was better suited for him, the 2 sets would be for me to get helm and earring with the proviso that he’d get the Fenian ring if it dropped.

After having the popsets for some 6 months+, Evolpmal finally had the manpower to give it a go and did we ever! The fight was fun and after a few hiccups, we got through both popsets and got the following…

Supremacy1

AlFenian

Gnadbhods1

RebFenian

WOOHOOO! Thank you so much to my linkshell who came along as a very early event and pulled off some really excellent wins to get these drops.

So Gnadbhod’s is now my WS hat of choice for SAM and DRG and Supremacy earring goes perfectly with my Skystrider on DRG.

In other LS news, Sky farming has gone well of late. We are still yet to see a decent abjuration after fighting Genbu twice and once each for the other 3 lesser sky gods. A little frustrating but something that will remedy itself I’m sure as we keep chipping away at it.

Abjutoss

Limbus as been the usual also though with our other NIN/DRK tanks disappearing on us, Omega has been a no go lately. It has given us a chance to work on Temenos AF items though and a few people have been completing those. Stupid DRG item continues to elude me though -.-

And to finish off today, here’s a couple of random shots from around the way.

Its worse when its “friends”.

October 3rd, 2009 No comments

Disloyalty, desertion, being hung out to dry. Friends make it all the more brutal. Doesn’t matter so much when it’s people you don’t know or people you don’t give a shit about but friends…

I guess it shows you who you can really count on. Sure its only a game but when you are told you have your friends behind you in an endeavor only to realize you don’t, well that’s just fun its most excellent of forms. I challenge anyone out there who thinks I’m overreacting to act any different when you expect the support of friends and find you can only count on one or 2.

Cheers to all my good “friends” out there. You guys make it all worth while and I’m happy to stick my neck out for you anytime.
